Learn about our services

  • Dr Chiri will first see you in our Mt Lawley or Murdoch rooms and take a thorough history and perform an examination. If you require a Nerve Conduction Study it will be organised for you with one of our recommended Neurologists.

  • If your symptoms are suitable for non-operative management then you will be offered either an on-site Hand Therapy appointment, splinting or cortisone injection. The injection can be performed during the initial consultation.

  • If Dr Chiri suggests a Carpal Tunnel Release then there are two techniques of release which Dr Chiri performs. An endoscopic technique is performed under General Anaesthetic or a mini-open technique which can be performed under Local Anaesthetic +/- Sedation.

  • Once Dr Chiri completes the procedure, you will be allowed to go home on the same day. Your follow up will be between day 7-10. Dr Chiri will inspect and re-dress your wound. You will be encouraged to use your hand for most daily activities. Most patients will not require any further appointments but Dr Chiri encourages patients to return if they have any questions or concerns.

DON’T IGNORE YOUR SYMPTOMS

If your pins/needles or pain in your wrist/fingers is concerning you, seek medical advice from your GP or specialist. There may be a very simple solution. Delaying treatment for carpal tunnel syndrome can cause irreversible damage to the nerve.
